The boldest movements of banning 500 and 1000 notes by the Government of India has received mixed reactions till now. The majority of industry and commoners alike reacted to this decision with overwhelming support, whereas some sections are of the opinion that it is a tough scheme causing hardships to people.
Celebrities of various film industries have welcomed Modi's decision and superstar Mahesh Babu called it a master stroke. 'A refreshing change for our economy and country! Master stroke from the man of the people by the people for the people! Salute you Narendra Modi sir!' posted Mahesh Babu on his Twitter page.
Star heroes high remunerations is one of prime reasons for producers and distributors loosing heavy amounts. In Hollywood there is a system of film actors taking their remuneration in the form of cheques and few top stars get share from profits of their films.
In Tollywood too, few actors are taking share of a particular area as their pay which is a welcome resolution favors producers.
It may be mentioned here that, Mahesh Babu reimbursed share of his remuneration, when distributors incurred heavy losses with his last movie Brahmotsavam tanking at box office.
Actually, the driving force behind this historical decision was to eradicate black money. A recent study had pegged India's black market economy at over Rs 30 lakh crore or about 20 percent of total GDP. This is even bigger than the GDP of countries like Thailand and Argentina.
