Director Praveen Sattaru of Chandamama Kathalu and Guntur Talkies was supposed to make biopic of Badminton guru Pullela Gopichand with Sudheer Babu portraying the veteran ace player. The director spent ample of time to pen script to make it in Telugu as well as Hindi.
Telugu girl PV Sindhu's silver medal winning achievement in Olympics this year has enhanced chances of existence of the film. Apparently, the project has been shelved. Budget seems to be reason for cancellation of the flick.
Sudheer Babu might be best choice for the film as he is a badminton player and watched Gopichand very closely while he was playing doubles at national level in partnership with the Padma Bhushan awardee.
Nonetheless, the actor hasn't scored a commercial hit hitherto. And making such high budget entertainer with Sudheer Babu would be a risky move!
Meanwhile, Praveen Sattaru is making a cop film with senior hero Rajasekhar who is missing from the action for long time. Pooja Kumar of Viswaroopam fame is playing the female lead and Shraddha Das will be seen in a vital role. The production unit recently came back from Georgia after a long shooting schedule.
We need to wait and see what Sudheer Babu, who dreamed of doing Gopichand biopic, will do now!
